Car appraiser in Brandenburg recording accident damage on a car near Berlin

Your car appraiser for Berlin and Brandenburg

Berlin and its surroundings are closely intertwined. Many people commute across the city boundary every day, and accidents happen on the Berlin ring road just as often as in the city centre. That is why we do not limit ourselves to the capital: we inspect vehicles in the towns and municipalities around Berlin and beyond. The call-out is free, whether your car is in a district town, a village or a company car park. You can read more about the state of Brandenburg and its districts on Wikipedia.

For these towns we have dedicated pages with information on typical damage, districts and local procedures:

Accident reports outside Berlin

After an accident that was not your fault we determine repair costs, repair time, diminished value and loss of use for the claim.

Valuation reports and vehicle appraisal

For a sale, purchase, inheritance or your insurer we determine the value of your vehicle transparently.

Wildlife damage and partial cover

After a wildlife collision we document hair and blood traces, impact height and all affected parts for your insurer.

Free call-out

We come to your home, your workplace, the garage or the towing company.

Why an independent report matters outside the city too

Outside the city in particular, many insurers suggest simply having the damage recorded at a partner garage or sending an expert they have instructed. That saves the insurer money, but not you. An independent vehicle appraiser you instruct yourself records every item you are entitled to after an accident that was not your fault, including diminished value and loss of use. You are generally free to choose your appraiser, even if you live in a small village.

When a report in Brandenburg is worthwhile

A report is worthwhile after any accident that was not your fault where the damage exceeds the minor damage threshold of usually around €750, after a wildlife collision if your partial cover requires proof, after parking or manoeuvring damage with an unknown culprit and before buying a used car privately.

Typical damage in Brandenburg

Outside the city, claims differ noticeably from those in the centre. Distances are longer, speeds higher and roads often narrower. At appointments in Brandenburg we therefore frequently see these cases:

  • Collisions with deer or wild boar, especially at dusk
  • Rear-end collisions in commuter traffic on the Berlin ring and feeder roads
  • Oncoming-traffic scrapes and mirror damage on narrow tree-lined roads
  • Stone chips, underbody and wheel damage on country and farm tracks
  • Manoeuvring damage in company and supermarket car parks
  • Storm damage from falling branches

Wildlife collision: what the insurer needs

After a wildlife collision most partial comprehensive insurers require a wildlife accident certificate from the police or a hunter. Do not move the animal yourself and photograph the scene. We then record all traces on the vehicle and assess the damage so that the insurer can clearly attribute it to the wildlife collision.

How much does a vehicle report cost in Brandenburg?

In short: Prices in Brandenburg are the same as in Berlin, and the call-out is free. For minor damage a short report from €150 to €350 is often enough; a full damage report is usually from €300 to €700, for major damage from €700 to €1,200. A valuation report is usually from €150 to €350, a detailed valuation from €350 to €750, classic and special vehicles from €400 to €1,000. After an accident that was not your fault, the other party’s insurer generally pays the appraiser’s fees. All details are on our page about the cost of a vehicle report in Berlin and Brandenburg.

After an accident outside Berlin: what to do

  1. Switch on hazard lights, put on a high-visibility vest and set up the warning triangle at a sufficient distance, further back on country roads.
  2. Look after anyone injured and call the emergency services on 112.
  3. Photograph the scene, the vehicles, number plates and skid marks.
  4. Write down the details of the other party and of witnesses.
  5. For wildlife collisions, inform the police or hunter and ask for the certificate.
  6. Call us so that we can schedule the appointment as quickly as possible.

If possible, leave the vehicle as it is until the inspection. In rural areas garages are often further away, and some owners keep driving the damaged car until it is repaired. Check beforehand that this is safe and talk to us if in doubt.

Buying a used car and vehicle valuation outside Berlin

Many used cars in Brandenburg are sold privately, often to buyers from Berlin. With a private sale the warranty is usually excluded. We check the vehicle on site at the seller’s: paint thickness on all panels, panel gaps, underbody, rust and repair traces, and on request we read the control units. That way you know before signing whether the car has had an accident.

For a vehicle appraisal or valuation report we look at condition, equipment, mileage and service history and place the vehicle in the market.

Agriculture, business and commuters

Besides private cars, many vans, company vehicles and motorhomes are on the road in Brandenburg. We prepare reports for these too, for example as a truck appraisal or motorhome appraisal. For commercially used vehicles we also record the expected downtime so that the claim is complete.

We check high-mileage commuter cars particularly carefully for previous damage. This separation prevents the insurer from cutting items by pointing to older damage.

Measuring technology right at the vehicle

Outside Berlin we work with the same measuring technology as in the city. Paint thickness measurement reveals repainted parts, frame measurement shows body deformation. The endoscope reveals damage in cavities, and by reading the control units we see fault memories of airbags, assistance systems and engine.

For engine damage, a compression test and oil analysis help narrow down the cause. And for vehicles with cameras and radar sensors we check whether ADAS calibration is needed after the accident.

Free initial assessment for all of Brandenburg

Before we set off, we clarify together what you need. Send us photos of the damage and the location of the vehicle. We give you a free initial assessment and tell you openly whether a report, a short report or a repair estimate makes sense. That way you avoid unnecessary costs.

The Berlin and Brandenburg border area

Many accidents happen right at the city boundary, for example between Spandau and Falkensee, between Marienfelde and Ludwigsfelde or between Zehlendorf and Teltow. It makes no difference to you which side of the boundary your car is on: process, prices and free call-out are identical.

Even if the accident happened in Berlin and you live in Brandenburg, we come to your home. That saves you a journey in a damaged vehicle.
